If someone were to ask me what my favorite season is, I’d definitely say Autumn. Yes, even when things are brown and everything looks dead, there is still color and beauty to be seen, IMO. Maybe that’s why I tend to like doing Autumn trees.
Back to the watercolors, but this one was done with calligraphy pens instead of a brush for the everything but the light blue and green washes. And I love how the tree turned out. There is a texture to the trunk and the branches thinning out to where I added the leaves, and green strokes for grasses… For me it’s wonderful.
