Today’s painting should probably be titled “fun with a palette knife” instead of the non-name I’ve given it. I picked up a cheap plastic palette knife (it came with the new plastic palette I bought) and decided that another venture into painting with gouache was needed. I thought to try some collage as well but that part wasn’t working for me so the two bits that I did collage in just ended up getting painted over.
This one was a bit more fun to do, I’ll say that. I think the key is to not thin the paint out with water, or to not use too much of it. This isn’t watercolor and I keep trying to use it like that, which seems to be a bit part of the problem. When I just went with straight paint, the results look better to me.
