So I’ve gotten behind again on my daily paintings, but more from doing other work here on the website than from lack of motivation. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve added my own shop here on the site instead of only relying on Etsy for (attempted) sales. And I’ve gotten a bit ambitious working on days 23 and 24. I’m doing these as a pair so it’s easiest to actually do them at the same time. Plus the technique I’m playing around with (inspired by seeing a video of how Stephanie Pui-Mun Law does some of her textures) is new, so it’s taking me longer to finish areas. And there is more detail involved, so again, takes longer. I like what I’m seeing so far though, so that’s always a good thing. So here’s a WIP of days 23 and 24, so far untitled although “Creeping” comes to mind. Or maybe “Fractures” might work, too.
Days 23-24 – WIP Untitled (so far)
Watercolor on paper, each 9″ x 12″
I haven’t been totally into my computer work though. I managed to do a tiny painting for today. It’s something I need to remember to take in with each day, plus I just wanted to play with a new flat brush I have. 😉
Day 25 – “Joy”
Watercolor and blue ink on paper, 5.5″ x 2.5″
And in-between waiting for the above two pieces to dry, I got the background put down for my day 26 piece, which will be pen/ink lines over the colors. Tentative title right now is leaning towards “Burning Bright” for some reason.
Day 26 – WIP “Nebula”
Watercolor (and ink) on paper, 7.5″ x 7.5″
